3D world map with all countries: an interactive globe
This 3D world map with all countries is an interactive map you can spin: drag the globe to rotate it, scroll or pinch to zoom, and hover or tap a country to see its name. Click any shape to open its Travle page with its land borders, the routes the game allows from it, a country map and key facts, so the globe with countries doubles as a quick map of all countries in the game. It is an interactive map of world countries and an easy way to learn the map of the world.
Open any country map from the globe with countries
Unlike a flat world country map, where countries in a map projection change size near the poles, this 3D globe map of countries keeps the real shape of each one, so you can find any country on the map without the stretching. Click on the country you want to see: its page has a detailed country map and its neighbours in Travle, so you can explore the country before you play.
How to use the world map with all countries
- Rotate: drag the globe with the mouse or one finger.
- Zoom: scroll, or pinch on a touch screen.
- Read: hover or tap a country to see its name and its dataset estimates.
- Open: click a country to go to its page, with neighbours, Travle routes and facts.
What the colours on the interactive map mean
Each country is shaded by an estimate of GDP per person: Natural Earth's GDP estimate divided by its population estimate (with a minimum of 100,000 people, so very small territories do not dominate the scale). These are old dataset estimates — mostly GDP for 2016 and population for 2017 — shown with their year in each label. They are useful to compare, not current figures.

World map with all countries: frequently asked questions
How many countries are on the world map?
The globe draws 176 countries and territories from Natural Earth 1:110m (Antarctica is left out). 173 of them link to a Travle country page.
Is it a world map with every country?
Almost. It is a globe with all countries large enough to draw at 1:110m: 176 countries and territories. Microstates and many small islands are too small to appear, so not all countries on earth are on the globe.
Why are some very small countries missing?
At the 1:110m scale used for the globe, microstates and many small islands are too small to draw, so they do not appear as shapes.
What do the colours on the interactive map show?
An estimate of GDP per person from Natural Earth (GDP divided by population). The figures are old dataset estimates, useful to compare countries.
Does the 3D map work on a phone?
Yes. Drag with one finger to rotate the globe and pinch to zoom; tap a country to see its name.
Is the world map free to use?
Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up and loads everything from travle.org.
