Find a flag: find the country flag
Find the country flag you saw by describing it: pick the colours you remember, a symbol, the pattern or a continent, and the matching flags appear below. 173 flags from the Travle country list are included, and one click on a flag gives you the country of the flag with its page.
How to find the country flag
- Start with the colours. Two or three main colours already rule out most flags. A colour counts here when it covers at least 3% of the flag.
- Add one symbol. A star, a crescent, a sun or a coat of arms narrows the list quickly.
- Check the layout. Horizontal or vertical stripes, a cross, a triangle or a corner block (canton) point to different families of flags.
- Use the continent if you remember where you saw it.

Where the flag details come from
Colours and stripes are measured from the flag images used on this site (Flagpedia.net, public domain): each flag is drawn at 150 × 100 pixels and every pixel is sorted into a colour family. Symbols and other layouts (cross, triangle, diagonal band, canton) come from Wikidata's «depicts» statements for each national flag (CC0, retrieved 2026-10-20). Wikidata does not list every symbol on every flag, so a missing match does not always mean the flag lacks it. Animals and plants are not offered as filters because the data is too incomplete.
Find the country flag: frequently asked questions
Why does a flag with red not appear when I select red?
A colour only counts when it covers at least 3% of the flag, so very small details (a thin line, a small emblem) may not register.
What if no flag matches?
Remove one filter at a time, starting with symbols: Wikidata does not list every symbol on every flag, so a missing match does not always mean the flag lacks it.
Does the tool include territories?
Yes. It uses the Travle country list, which includes a few territories as well as countries.
How do I find the flag of a country I already know?
Open All country flags (Travle Hints), which shows every flag A–Z, or type the country name there.
